Election night: PC win (in this riding)

After weeks of listening to people promise me things (even though I can't vote for them), today was the big day. Ontario provincial election, with my riding of Prince Edward - Hastings considered one of the tight ones.

I gambled on which party to go to, and somehow I gambled right. We went to Todd Smith's party at the Belleville Club (known for its swankiness and horrible lighting) and he showed up early to watch the numbers come in. It was surprisingly lacking photoj students. As it became more and more apparent that he was going to win the riding, I was glad we were in the right place. Apparently the Liberal MPP for the riding, Leona Dombrowsky, didn't even show up at her headquarters until after the results were known. What a shame for the few students who went to cover that.

Anyway, it was an exciting win for Smith, MPP. He has a vibrant young family and is well-known in the area. Congratulations to him, and good luck in Queen's Park.
