Apparently when it snows in Ontario, everything shuts down. It wasn't that bad. It was half a foot, with predictions of up to a foot, but overall it was still a nice day. School was cancelled however, but this let me spend most of my day tromping around Belleville taking pictures of people in the snow.

BELLEVILLE, Ont. (02/02/11) - Glen (no last name given), makes his way home from a trip for coffee along Bridge Street West near Sidney Street in Belleville on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011. The Groundhog Day storm was set to bury the Quinte region in a minimum of 15 centimetres of snow and schools were closed across the board. Although main roads were cleared quickly, sidewalks and smaller roads remained treacherous throughout the day. Photo by Rachel Psutka. |

I did the requisite "picture of guy shovelling/snowblowing" as well, but I liked the walking ones more. People still going about their lives, uninterrupted, getting from A to B, albeit a little slower.
