BELLEVILLE, Ont. (29/03/11) - A lemon poses on a plate in Belleville on Tuesday, Mar. 29, 2011. The exact origin of the lemon is a mystery, though it is presumed that lemons first grew in India, Burma and China. Today the fruit is primarily used for its juice, although the pulp and rind also are used for culinary purposes. The sour, distinctive taste of a lemon makes it a key ingredient in dishes worldwide. The childrens' parents, Adam and Shari, were inspired by Earth Hour to try to reduce energy consumption in their home and are taking several steps to meet this goal, including bathing their children together. "I'm glad to be saving some water and it's actually easier on me too," says Shari, "plus the kids love it, they think it's great fun." Photo by Rachel Psutka. |
